Congratulations to PI Associate Diana Witt

Statistical Programming in SASThe Carolina Chapter of the Society for Technical Communications (STC) awarded Statistical Programming in SAS® an Excellence award in their 2010–11 competition. Congratulations to Diana Witt, whose index contributed to the success of this title, as judged by our peers. The chapter awards committee presented the award at their March awards banquet.

June

Kay Schlembach, Jan Wright, and Joshua Tallent will be talking about Indexing and eBook issues for textbooks at the Text and Academic Authors Association (TAA) annual conference in Albuquerque, NM. June 23-25

May

ASI President and PI Partner Richard Shrout will be representing ASI at the Society for Technical Communication (STC) TechComm Summit, May 15-18 in Sacramento. Tim O'Reilly, of O'Reilly Media, will be the keynote speaker.

April:

Seth Maislin and Kay Schlembach will be teaching workshops at the 2011 ASI Annual Meeting in Providence, RI. Our very own Richard Shrout has been instrumental in planning this transformational meeting, April 28-30. Visit www.asindexing.org

SAVE THE DATE: the 2011 Associate Appreciation dinner will be held in Providence, RI on Friday, April 29 at about 7:30.

Richard Shrout took the gavel as President of the American Society of Indexing (ASI), April 30.

PI Day is March 14.

The ASI/ H.W. Wilson award committee will be meeting to evaluate and (hopefully) decide on a winner March 19, 2011, at the home of Kay Schlembach. February:

Kay Schlembach and two-time Wilson award winner Margie Towery will be presenting a workshop on "Hunting the Elusive Wilson" at the ASI South Central chapter meeting in Houston, Texas on February 26, 2011. This workshop will be hosted at the home of Victoria Agee.
