Richard Shrout

Richard Shrout is currently serving as President of the American Society for Indexing (ASI). Richard will focus on both domestic and international indexing/information architecture issues, including the rapidly changing digital publishing environment. Richard has a passion for collaboration and service. In addition to daily indexing work, he has directed the implementation and improvement of administrative services within the company. This interest stems from his 30 years of experience directing technical services in large federal library systems. He is building additional resources to develop government business and is working on structuring the company for continued international expansion. Richard has traveled throughout the world meeting with indexers and associated vendors in places as diverse as China, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands, and Russia. Richard lives and works in Maryland near Washington, D.C.

Seth Maislin

Seth is a full-time consultant in taxonomy, information architecture, and indexing, and a well-respected instructor in all three fields, having provided in-house training to organizations like FedEx Express, Mercedes Benz, Terra Lycos, and the UN Library. Seth is proficient in the utilization and development of specialized tools for editorial tagging, as well knowledgeable about automated indexing and autoclassification techniques. He is a regular contributor to the Taxonomy Community of Practice webinar series, and has spoken at conferences in Germany and Israel. He is a past-president of the American Society for Indexing. Seth lives and works near Boston, Massachusetts.

Kay Schlembach

Kay Schlembach has based her professional life on service, both to clients and the profession. Since 1996, she has indexed hundreds of books as well as managing projects as a Potomac Indexing senior partner. Large, multi-volume projects are a specialty, as well as business, professional, and school publishing texts. For over a decade, Kay taught the acclaimed Practical Introduction to Indexing workshop, as well as serving for five years on the ASI Board of Directors. During her ASI service, Kay was instrumental in the development, adoption, and implementation of the ASI Training in Indexing distance learning course. She works full-time as an indexer and project manager, while growing more familiar with taxonomy application. Kay lives and works near Washington D.C.

Estalita Slivoskey

Estalita Slivoskey is a book, journal, and magazine indexer who provides great attention to detail and quality service. She has indexed hundreds of books, as well as managing projects as a Potomac Indexing managing associate. Estalita’s specialties are computer, business, travel, textbooks, and general audience. She is currently serving as Secretary of the Mid- and South-Atlantic Chapter of the American Society for Indexing (ASI). Estalita lives and works near Baltimore, Maryland.
